Cynthia Gale Murchison-Grice, the Founder and Executive Director of New Vision Outreach Ministry, has spent her life in service to others:


 


•     A resident of Newport News, Virginia; Cynthia is married to Timothy, the mother of two sons: Cedric and Renard and one daughter: Rayania. She has two grandsons by her eldest son Cedric. Cynthia attends World Outreach Worship Center (previously Denbigh Church of God), Pastored by: Pastor Bobby Collins in Newport News, Virginia.

 

     During her U. S. Army career, she was trained as an Acute Minor Illness Technician (Amosist). Her assignments included service at the Amosist Clinic at Ft. Knox, as an Amosist assigned on the Lt Col John Page an Army boat in Hawaii, NCOIC for an Army clinic in Pusan, Korea.  In addition, she was assigned supervisory duties for the Maternity Ward, Orthopedic Ward, ROTC Clinic, Outpatient Clinic, and Emergency Room/Ambulance Section  at other Army installations. Cynthia was also certified as a Basic EMS Instructor, CPR Instructor and Med Tech.

 


•     While in the  Army, Cynthia maintained civilian employment through Medical Personnel Pool as a Nurses Aid, volunteered as a counselor for children with MS, attended the Real Estate School of Hawaii and volunteered as a tutor for children of military families.

•

 

*From 1992-1994 Cynthia worked with Operation Breakingthrough with Rev. Gary Hamm providing tutoring, clothing, and assistance to children and families in Newport News.

•

 

*Cynthia’s Community and Church involvement has included:

–AL-ANON Training

–Organized Vacation Bible School for children from Marshall Courts Housing for grades K-12

–Held movie and craft Saturdays twice a month for children from Marshall Courts Housing

–Facilitated co-dependant workshops for family members and friends of drug and alcohol addicts

–Cynthia opened CG’S Kids Wear, a children’s clothing store from 1992-1994

–Received training and certification as a Girls Counselor through the Church of God

–Was coordinator and instructor of the Girls Club program at Denbigh Church of God from 1993-1998.

•

 

*As New Vision's CEO Cynthia is a member of:

People to People, Greater Virginia Peninsula Continuum of Care Council (GVPCCC)-Advocacy Committee, Chairperson of Hampton Roads Partnership for Successful Youth.

•

*Certified Adults and Children Together Against Violence Training Facilitator, sponsored by the APA (American Psychological Association) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children Certified Facilitator.


•

 

*Certified Nurturing Parenting Program® Facilitator, for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. A program of Family Development Resources, Inc. Program application developed by Stephen J. Bavolek, Ph.D.


•

 

*In 2002, Cynthia was trained and sworn as a CASA Volunteer (Court Appointed Special Advocate) advocating for children who are victims of abuse and/or neglect.
 

*Cynthia is currently enrolled in World Harvest Bible College preparing for ordination as a licensed minister
